Ekoten Tekstil Enhances Sustainability with AI-Powered Precision in Textile Production

Ekoten Tekstil, a subsidiary of Sun Tekstil and a key player in the textile industry, is revolutionising manufacturing by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) for defect detection. This advanced system ensures superior fabric quality while reinforcing the company’s sustainability efforts. By leveraging real-time AI monitoring, Ekoten Tekstil enhances production accuracy, reduces material waste, and significantly lowers the environmental footprint of textile manufacturing.

“Our AI-driven systems allow us to detect and correct textile defects before they lead to unnecessary reprocessing, reducing waste and optimising resource use,” said Sabri Ünlütürk, Vice Chairman of the Board of Sun Tekstil and Ekoten Tekstil. “This technology strengthens both efficiency and sustainability in our manufacturing processes.”

AI Innovations Driving Water Conservation in Textile Manufacturing

Textile production is one of the most water-intensive industries, with dyeing and finishing processes contributing to approximately 20% of global industrial water pollution. Ekoten Tekstil’s AI technology helps mitigate this impact by identifying defects at an early stage, thus reducing the need for re-dyeing and reprocessing, ultimately conserving water.

As global droughts continue to intensify, affecting communities and industries, water conservation has become increasingly crucial. The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights that droughts impact 55 million people annually, worsening water shortages across multiple sectors. By improving operational efficiency and cutting down on water usage, Ekoten Tekstil actively supports broader sustainability initiatives.

Leading the Way in Sustainability and Workplace Diversity

Ekoten Tekstil’s sustainability efforts extend beyond water conservation. The company has once again secured an A rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change assessment, surpassing both the global textile industry average of B and the worldwide average of C. Furthermore, it has maintained an A/Leadership rating in the CDP Supplier Engagement Ranking for three consecutive years, placing it among the most sustainable supply chain leaders globally.

In addition to its environmental commitments, Ekoten Tekstil also prioritises workplace inclusivity, ensuring women play key roles in both leadership and production. This emphasis on diversity aligns with the company’s long-term vision of merging innovation with responsible business practices.

“Innovation is not just about technology—it’s also about fostering an inclusive and forward-thinking workplace,” Ünlütürk said. “At Ekoten Tekstil, we believe that sustainable success comes from both operational advancements and a diverse, empowered workforce.”

By continuing to invest in AI-driven efficiency, sustainable practices, and workforce inclusivity, Ekoten Tekstil is paving the way for a more responsible and environmentally conscious future in textile manufacturing.
